Residents of Karampuang Island, Mamuju, Finally Has Access to Electrictiy

Location : Karampuang Island, Mamuju – West Sulawesi
IKPT was completed build Solar Photovoltaic Electricity in Karampuang Island, Mamuju, West Sulawesi. The project is aimed at developing 4 Solar Photovoltaic power plant with total capacity of 316.8 kWp with electrifies 3,317 locals. The areas are PLTS-1 located in Hamlet of Karampuang I, with capacity of 201.6 kWp, PLTS-2 in Karaeang Hamlet with a capacity of 115.2 kWp, PLTS-3 located in Ujung Bulo Hamlet with capacity of 147,2 kWp and PLTS-4 Karampuang 2 with capacity of 134,4 kWp.
Before, Electricity on the island is provided by diesel engine generators for local community at relatively high cost of fuel and can be use from 18:00 – 22:00, and environmental impact due to diesel emissions. With the existence of solar photovoltaic power generation, currently people in Karampuang Island can enjoy electricity for 24 hours.
This project has been finished successfully and “kept safe man hours” until completion with “zero accident” and currently the all solar PV plants in Karampuang Island are in operation.
IKPT as solution provider is very proud to contribute significantly, perform and completion to the renewable energy development in Indonesia, especially in remote areas. The success story of PLTS in Karampuang encourages IKPT to contribute even more to the renewable energy infrastructure development that is planned by the Government of Indonesia.
