PGE (Pertamina Geothermal Energy), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) carrying out development Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Lahendong – 4 in Tompaso, North Sulawesi with a capacity of 20 MW.
Since the exploitation phase to the development of geothermal steam pipe to the flow of electricity generation in production by PLN (Persero) is done by PT. PGE with the Main Contractor is PT. IKPT (PT. Inti Karya Persada Tehnik).
“All relevant stakeholders has been understand the activity of geothermal development is an attempt to fulfill the electrical Sulawesi Utara that relies on renewable energy that are environmentally friendly and in line with the Light Indonesian Program recently promoted by the government c.q. Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources”.
Previously the Lahendong existing in Units 1, 2 & 3 with the capacity of each unit of 20 MW. With the constructed the Unit 4 of this increase, the supply of electricity which totals around 40% of electricity needs in North Sulawesi.
In the implementation, IKPT’s committed toward Schedule, Quality and Safety. Safety commitment was shown without Accidents Work (Zero Accident) during 2012. Total working hours on a project without accidents during 2012 was approximately 500,000 hours of work.
Currently North Sulawesi had a deficit of electricity supply. Extra power supply of 20 MW of Geothermal Power Plant Unit – 4 built by IKPT, it would be very beneficial to people of North Sulawesi, considering there are still in North Sulawesi’s areas that do not have the electricity.
