Contract Signing for Blawan Ijen Geothermal Unit #1 Power Plant Project for Medco Power Indonesia Group
PT Inti Karya Persada Tehnik (“IKPT”) along with a Consortium partner PT Multi Fabrindo Gemilang (“Consortium”) have signed the Onshore EPCC Contract for Blawan Ijen Geothermal Unit #1 Power Plant Project (“Project”) with PT Medco Cahaya Geothermal (“MCG”), a subsidiary of Medco Power Indonesia (“MPI”), on 11th January 2023. The Project is located in Blawan Ijen, Jawa Timur, Indonesia and will become the first geothermal power plant in East Java Province.
This Project is listed in Indonesian Electricity Master Plan (Rencana Usaha Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik or RUPTL 2021 – 2030), which is a ten (10) year electricity development plan for the operating areas of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or usually mentioned as PLN. Furthermore, it is a part of Renewable Energy for carbon neutral target and environmentally friendly to maximize the usage of clean energy. In the ceremony, Offshore Supply Contract was signed between MCG and Ormat Technologies Inc. In addition, Financial Agreement was also signed by MCG and PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (“SMI”). The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Harris Yahya S.T., M.T. from Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (“EBTKE”) under Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (“MEMR”), Mr. Adi Lumakso as a Generation Management Director of PLN, Mr. Edwin Syahruzad as SMI President Director, and from Medco Group, which are Mr. Hilmi Panigoro as President Director of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk., Mr. Eka Satria as President Director of PT Medco Power Indonesia, and Medco group Director and Commissioner.
The Project will produce 31.4MWnet as Phase-1 which is as part of the future development target towards 110 MW and the Consortium scope will be the construction for Power Block System and the EPCC work for Steam Above Ground System (SAGS), the Balance of Plant (BOP), Switchyards, and also the Transmission Line System 150 kV. The EPC schedule is expected to be completed in Q4 2024. IKPT as the leader of the Consortium will perform and complete this phase-1 project successfully for our client MCG and Medco group, aiming to our continuous contribution to the future stage for the client.
