Residents of Karampuang Mamuju Island Finally Enjoy Electricity
Now, the resident of Karampuang Island, Mamuju, in West Sulawesi Province, can access the electricity after the inauguration of 2 (two) Solar PV Power Plant on Friday, December 8, 2017 by the Governor of West Sulawesi Mr. Ali Baal Masdar.
The installation for this renewable energy projects was conducted in 2 (two) locations, one in PLTS-1 Desa Karampuang I, built on 2,392 m2 land with capacity of 201.6 kWp and the other is in PLTS-2 in Karaeang Hamlet built on land area of 1890 with a capacity of 115.2 kWp.
The development of this project is part of Millennium Challenge Account (MCA)-Indonesia Green Prosperity Project which is implemented by PT Sky Energy Indonesia and PT Inti Karya Persada Tehnik (IKPT). The project aims to support the Government of Indonesia’s commitment to low-carbon economic development. The project builds 4 power plants, with total capacity of 598.4 kWp, which electrifies 3,317 locals.
The inauguration of the power plants was opened by Mr. Lukas Adhyakso (Deputy of Executive Director of MCA-Indonesia), attended by National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), Deputy of Minister for Development Funding Affairs (Mr. Kennedy Simanjuntak) and Deputy of Facilities and Infrastructure (Mr. Wismana Adi Suryabrata), Vice Regent of Mamuju (Mr. H. Irwan SP Pababri), Counselor of U.S Embassy for Commercial Affairs (Ms. Rosemary Gallant), Millennium Challenge Corporation, MCA-Indonesia, Director of PT. Sky Energy (Hengky Loa), Director of PT. IKPT (Mr. Yasuhiro Hime), PT. Karampuang Multi Daya, and Cooperative Cahaya Karampuang Sejahtera.
IKPT is proud to contribute significantly to the renewable energy development in Indonesia, especially in remote areas. The success story of PLTS 1 & 2 in Karampuang encourages IKPT to contribute even more to the renewable energy infrastructure development that is planned by the Government of Indonesia.
