IKPT Wins “Synthetic Rubber” Project With a Capacity of 120,000 Tonnes/Year
PT Synthetic Rubber Indonesia (SRI) has appointed Toyo Engineering Corporation and PT Inti Karya Persada Tehnik as a Construction Contractor Synthetic Rubber factory in Cilegon, Banten.
The Joint Venture company (JV) National Petrochemical, PT. Chandra Asri Petrochemical (CAP) by the French tire manufacturer, Compagnie Financiere du Groupe Michelin is targeting a production capacity of 120 thousand tons per year from the plant.
SRI has signed an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) with Toyo Engineering Corporation and PT Inti Karya Persada Tehnik to build a plant with a capacity of 120,000 tonnes per year. Hopefully, the plant was completed in early 2018, “said Corporate Secretary CAP, Suryandi through a press release quoted Wednesday (1/7).
With the appointment of two contractors, it is clear Suryandi, companies can immediately start the construction of its plant in the fourth quarter of 2015. According to him, the process of land preparation is complete, where they are located adjacent to the mill complex CAP.
“If completed, this plant will be the sole producer of synthetic rubber with advanced technological processes in Indonesia. The plant is planned to produce Neodymium Polybutadiene Rubber with Catalyst and Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber,” he said.
The factory is expected to produce neodymium catalyst butadiene rubber by 40 thousand tons per year and solution styrene butadiene rubber as much as 125 thousand tons per year. In the production process later, this plant will use raw material butadiene produced by PT Petrochemicals Butadiene Indonesia, which is a subsidiary of the Company.
