IKPT Appointed as Procurement & Construction (P&C) Contractor for Biomass Power Plant Project on Siberut Island – Mentawai, West Sumatra for Green Prosperity Project
Detail Engineering Design (DED) of Bamboo based Biomass Power Plant Project in Siberut Island, Mentawai has been completed by IKPT under the initial Grant for engineering work from Millennium Challenge Account – Indonesia (MCA-I) to PT Charta Putra Indonesia (CPI) as Implementer.
Subsequent to DED completion by IKPT, upon Grant Agreement signed between MCA-I and CPI on March 20, 2017, IKPT is continuously appointed as Procurement & Construction (P&C) Contractor under the P&C Contract signed with CPI.
The Project is now under implementation by Grant under the Green Prosperity Program by MCA-I for Off-Grid and Community- Owned Renewable Energy. Bamboo Gasification Technology will be provided by Ankur Scientific Energy Technologies Pvt. Ltg, India.
The Biomass Power Plant consists of :
*Gasification unit package : Feedstock Preparation, Unit Gasification and Gas Engine
*Process support utilities Unit : Cooling Water unit system, Compressed Air Instrument unit system and Chilling Water System.
Biomass Power Plant will be built in the following three (3) villages in remote area. Total 700 kW power will be supplied to the local community in Siberut Island.
- 300 kW in Madobag area
- 150 kW in Matotonan area
- 250 kW in Saliguma area
The development of this Bamboo based Biomass Gassification Power Plant provides clean and economical renewable energy to the people in villages and public facilities for the community.
