IKPT Supports Petrochemical Industry Resilience Through the Completion of Chandra Asri Group’s Butene-1 and MTBE Plant Expansion Project
PT Inti Karya Persada Tehnik (IKPT) has successfully completed the Butene-1 and MTBE Plant Expansion Project owned by PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group) in February 2026, following a series of technical test. With this achievement, Chandra Asri Group has increased the production capacity of its Butene-1 (B1) and Methyl Tert-Butyl Ether (MTBE) plant by up to 25%. This expansion marks a continuation of the B1 and MTBE plant development, which has been in operation since 2020, in which IKPT was also involved as the EPC contractor during its development phase.
The successful completion of this expansion project further strengthens Chandra Asri Group’s position as the leading provider of energy, chemical, and infrastructure solutions in Southeast Asia. It is also part of the company’s growth strategy to accelerating import substitution, enhancing domestic value creation, and strengthening the resilience of the national petrochemical industry.
Through this project, IKPT has not only delivered technical contributions but also support in strengthening Indonesia’s downstream petrochemical industry structure.
