Indonesia Grieves

Natural disasters hit central Indonesia in West Nusa Tenggara on Sunday, August 5, at 18.46 WIB. An earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale destroyed thousands of homes in West Lombok, East Lombok, and North Lombok districts that were most affected by the worst impact because they were the epicenter of the earthquake.

This disaster claimed many victims. North Lombok Regency as many as 65 people were declared dead, West Lombok 9 people, Central Lombok 2 people, East Lombok 2 people and Mataram City 4 people.

This sad news makes all regions in Indonesia empathize and IKPT through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) sends 2 (two) representatives to Lombok to directly donate. The chosen location was in North Lombok, considering this location was the area worst affected by the earthquake.

Donations given are in accordance with the needs of the local community, namely the Sasak Tribe in Kopang Hamlet, Medana Village, North Lombok District. Donations are received directly by the Village Chief of Medana – Bpk. H. Umar Kholid. The donations collected are from the IKPT and the participation of IKPT employees who are so empathetic towards the people of Lombok.

The situation is very alarming, all houses are broken to the ground, what is left is the ruins of the ruins of thousands of collapsed houses. Besides that, it is difficult to get clean water, there is no market that starts selling. The village of Medana was last received assistance on August 25, 2018 and when the IKPT gave its donation on September 15-16 2018, this is the first donation after last August. Happiness emanates from the faces of the Sasak tribe when receiving IKPT donations.
